Recent Projects at Syncretic

Stock Index and Basket Trading System

Syncretic built a trading system for a firm that trades stock indexes on the New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, and San Francisco stock exchanges. The system is used on workstations and on wireless pen-based computers at the exchanges. The system recently went into production and we expect to have over 25 traders active by the end of the month in Philadelphia. By year-end we are projecting that over 250 traders in the country will be using this system to trade commercial stock baskets. The system is a three-tier Client/Server system built with Borland's Delphi and Microsoft's SQL Server.

Web-based Logistics Tracking System

Syncretic built and now host a web-based tracking system for THG Logistics for use at DuPont and other client sites that track packages within their facilities. The system allows entry of package, location, and carrier information as well as load and delivery times. The system also utilizes a wide-area network Palm OS device to capture delivery information and communicate that information to the web for real-time reporting.

Federal Benefits Retirement System

Syncretic designed and developed a retirement benefits software package for an economic consulting firm to be sold as a product to government agencies. The software is intended to be used by benefit specialists while counseling Federal employees in retirement decision-making. The goal of the software was to integrate complex retirement regulations into a flexible and customizable platform and interface in order to meet the needs of specific agencies. There are dozens of federal agencies using one of the many different versions of this software.

Federal Student Loan Calculator

Syncretic designed and built a student loan-forecasting model for the Cost, Estimate, and Analysis Division of the Department of Education. The model allows CEAD analysts to run numerous scenarios that affect policy decisions for the loan programs. The model handles the numerous categorical parameters that are required. This includes the FFEL and DL Loan Programs, several loan types, and various repayment options. The model also breaks down the loan population by factors such as risk group and loan cohort. The model includes an aggregation module that allows the analyst to combine the subcategories dynamically for reporting and for integration with other models. Syncretic converted the original spreadsheet model into a custom client-server application that can produce estimates in less time and handle more complex calculations.

Syncretic Software's main goal is to perform services that provide real business benefits to our clients. We strive to make heroes of our clients.
